Genius Loci

This project is devoted to my profound passion for cities. I was inspired by the video game ‘Disco Elysium’, particularly due to its captivating portrayal of the game’s urban setting.

Genius Loci is a love letter from a city to an individual who grew up in the city, left, and after many years has come back. The book is made up of printed photos that I have taken, with found vintage letters, photos, and postcards interspaced throughout. I have crafted sentences by collaging words, forming a symphony of the city's voice conversing directly with the reader. With this project I aim to create a sense of nostalgia in the viewer with a mixture of modern day photography, and objects from years past.
